ある面白い研究が行われました。
起業家を目指すMBAプログラムに参加した
大学院生を調査したのです。
この時のMBAプログラムは、
全米一難しいと言われているものでした。
ハイスクール時代にオール５を取り、
ボストン大学に入学し、大学でもオール５を
とってMBAプログラムに参加し、
２年間徹底的に勉強し、
卒論としてビジネスプランを作り、
卒業していった、まさにエリート中のエリート達。
卒業後には、そのプランに基づいて、
自分たちで起業し、活躍しているのだろうと
誰もが思ったのです。
ところが、、、
実際には、そのうちの９０％の人が
起業しなかったのです。
９０％の人が起業家としての学位をとり
社会にでたのですが、
普通に会社に就職していたのです。
結局起業したのは、１０％の人だけ。
そして、
１３年後。。。
その卒業生達にインタビューをしました。
その結果わかったことは、起業した人たちは、
起業しなかった人たちよりも、
ずっと成功していたのです。
そこで、起業しなかった人たちに、
「なぜ起業しなかったのか？」
と訊ねたところ、誰もが口を揃えたように、
「タイミングが合わなかった」と答えたのです。
・景気がよくて、ライバルが多いから、、
・不況で景気がよくないから、、
・今、資金が足りないから、、、
・家庭の事情で、、、
・今年の運勢をみてみると、、、
タイミングが悪い理由を探せばいくらでも、
見つける事ができます。
というか、そもそも最高のタイミングというものが、
あるのかどうか、わかりません？？
ただ一つ
確実に言えることは、
待っていても何も変わらないということ。
今の状況を変えるには、
行動しないといけません。
多くの人たちは、「最高のタイミング」を待ち続け、
結局一歩を踏み出す事ができないままに時間が
過ぎていきます。
でも実際には、タイミングよりも自分の情熱や願望、
行動によって結果は変わります。
だったら、果たして本当に来るかどうかわからない
「最高のタイミング」を待っているよりも、
今、すぐに始めてしまったほうが
いいのではないでしょうか？
幸いなことに僕たちは、上手く行かなかれば、
”修正すればいい”
ということを知っています。
ということは、上手く行っても、行かなくても、
少しでも早く行動することで、
それだけ夢の実現に近づけるのです。
