「言葉」について普段から
意識をしていますか？
１年の始まりにあなたが普段つかう
「言葉」を見つめなおしてみると
変革が起きるかもしれません。
では、今日の原田先生のお話をどうぞ。

言葉の意味というのは、時代によって
変わっていくものらしい。
若い人はよく「やばい」という言葉を使うが、
私にとっての「やばい」は、「よろしくない」
「むしろピンチだ」という意味合いだが、
若い人は、何かとても美味しいものを食べた時に
「やばいくらい美味しい」と言ったり、
とてもかっこいいものを目に
したときに「やばいな」と言ったりもする。
よく新聞などでも取り上げられるのは
「全然」「全く」という言葉である。
私は学校では「全然～ない」「全く～しない」と、
後ろに否定語をつけて使う言葉である、
と習った記憶がある。
全然、雨が降らない。全く知らない。などだ。
しかし近年は「全然大丈夫です」「全くOKです」
などの使い方を、耳にすることが増えた。
国語的には「不適切」とされているそう
であるが、所謂「口語」は生き物であり、
今後も本来の意味とは違った意味を持つ
言葉が生まれることだろう。
言葉は確かに生き物であるが、その言葉が、
本来の意味を持つに至ったプロセスには、
その言葉の本質が込められているはずである。
特に日本語は、漢字を使う。漢字には一つ一つに
意味があり、漢字の意味を考えれば、熟語の
意味がわかる。
私は人前でお話をさせていただくことが多く、
またこうして、多くの人を読者として文章を
書く機会も多いので、言葉の持つ「本来の意味」
に着目することに、定期的に取り組んでいる。
「自分にとってすっかり当たり前」であるとか、
「自分の座右の銘になっている」などの言葉に
対してこそ、本来の意味に立ち返ることを
重要視している。
例えば、「主体変容」である。
なぜ「変容」なのか。同じような意味を持つ
「変化」ではダメなのか。
辞書を調べたり用法を調べたりして、
言葉の意味を再定義する。
変容：内面が変わった結果、外に変化が
現れること。全体の様子がすっかり
変わること。
変化：時間や空間の推移によって、それまでとは
違う状態や性質になること。
外面的な姿形が変わること。
そこで合点がいく。
そうか、だから主体「変容」なのだ。
主体「変化」では物足りない。
自分が変わるとは、内面から変わることであり、
新しい自分になるぐらいのつもりで生きる姿勢の
ことなのだ。
だから、主体変容なのだ。
そして考える。主体変容とは自分をすっかり
変えてしまうこと。そこでまた、立ち止まる。
それは、自己「改革」なのか？それとも自己「変革」なのか？
改革：古くなった制度などを新しいものに
改めること。もとあるものを変えること。
変革：根本から大きく変わること。
すっかり変えてしまうこと。
そこでまた気づく。そうか、目指すところは、
「自己変革」であり「行動変革」だ。
今している行動をすっかり変える、
それは自分の内面を変えるからこそ
できることである。その覚悟がなければ、
主体変容は生まれない。
原田メソッドでもお伝えしている
「目的・目標」。
目的は「的（まと）」であり、
目標は「標（しるべ）」。
また、目的は方向で、目標はそこまでの
距離である。
遠くの目的を見据えながら、その道のりにある
チェックポイント（目標）を、ひとつずつ
クリアしていく。
以前にお話しした「基礎と基本」もそうである。
基礎体力、とはいうが、基本体力とは言わない。
基本的な考え方、という時と基礎的な考え方、
という時では、意味が違うことに気づく。
過去にも何度かお話ししたことがあるが、
言葉は偉大である。
目にしたり口にしただけで、元気が出る。
勇気がわく。
一方で、マイナスの言葉というのもあり、
口にしたり目にしたり耳にしたりするだけで、
気が滅入ったり元気が無くなったりという
こともある。
言葉には言霊が宿る。私はそう考えている。
普段、何気なく使っている言葉を見つめ直し、
本質を捉え、再定義し、その上で、自分の体験、
過去、目指す未来に照らし合わせて使う。
そうすることで、その言葉には血が通い出す。
それは、言葉にあなたの血が通うという意味で
ある。
